Museum of Photography in Krakow

ul. Józefitów 16

This treasure trove of mementoes connected with the development of photography in Poland unveils its secrets in the successive editions of the Key to the Stockroom project.

The small villa that houses the museum contains a true treasure trove of mementoes connected with the development of photography in Poland. Its collection of photographic equipment from 1880–2005 boasts historical lenses, an array of various accessories, darkroom equipment, and props. A priceless testimony to the past are the archival photographs from the choicest Kraków ateliers that have operated since the 1860s, including that of Walery Rzewuski, the patron of the museum, and of the famous Krieger family. Artistic photographs are represented by works of over 100 photographers who played an important role in the history of Polish photography from the period between the two world wars to contemporary times. The collections of the museum are presented in successive editions of a regular project Key to the Stockroom. Temporary exhibitions are also organised.

Tickets: regular PLN 8, concessions PLN 5, family PLN 3, admission free on Sunday
