Hungarian Film Spring 2019
Monday, May 20, 2019 - Saturday, May 25, 2019
The Hungarian Film Spring, coming to Pod Baranami Cinema for the 13th time (20-25 May), introduces Polish audiences to the cinematography of their Hungarian cousins. We will join a journalistic investigation taking us to the criminal underbelly of 1930s Budapest (Budapest Noir, dir. Éva Gárdos). We also take a step back in time to the days of the Cold War and conquer space with the unlucky protagonist of Lajkó: Gypsy in Space (dir. Balázs Lengyel), join three little old ladies and their grandkids on an unforgettable intergenerational journey in Granny Project (dir. Bálint Révész), and discover family secrets of Olga’s mother who is in a deep coma in Aurora Borealis (dir. Márta Mészáros). The programme also features a review of Hungarian short films. Simply unmissable!
