Thursday, November 19, 2020, 6:00 PM - Wednesday, December 16, 2020
Henryk Ożóg, painter and printmaker, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow where he leads the Gravure Studio, mainly creates abstract compositions juxtaposing unidentifiable shapes and lines or intertwining everyday objects with multiplied, transformed human shapes.
The artist has presented over 30 individual exhibitions at home and abroad; the latest Cracovian presentation Compilations at the Jan Fejkiel Gallery was awarded the prestigious Witold Wojtkiewicz Prize by the Kraków Branch of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers for the author of the best exhibition of paintings, drawings or prints, held in Kraków last year. Past winners include Janina Kraupe, Zbysław Maciejewski, Jerzy Nowosielski, Jacek Sroka, and most recently Sławomir Lewczuk.
The award-giving gala, combined with an opening of the retrospective exhibition Black and White: To Colour and Back, is held at the Pryzmat Gallery at the Artists’ House at Łobzowska Street on 15 December. (Dorota Dziunikowska, “Karnet” monthly)
