Aleksandra Młynarczyk-Gemza. Notes of a Madwoman
Thursday, February 9, 2023, 6:00 PM - Friday, April 7, 2023
Notes of a Madwoman is also the title of the artist’s debut novel (Znak, 2022). The book reveals experiences relating to different aspects of life: being a woman, an artist and someone with a diagnosed mental illness. This very private and moving story is a manifesto of faith in art, which allows us to touch the boundaries of identity and get closer to the Other, including the one in ourselves.
Aleksandra Młynarczyk-Gemza is a multimedia artist, photographer and performer. The works on view in the MOCAK Library are illustrations for selected chapters of the novel Notes of a Madwoman.
The opening will start with the artist giving a performative reading of extracts from the book in MOCAK audiovisual room.
