Impossible June

1 June 2018

After last year’s extraordinary success, Kraków Daysmake a welcome return! This June they recall the atmosphereof the roaring 1920s and swinging 1930s, tyingin with the ongoing celebrations of the centenaryof Poland’s independence. There’s something for everyonein the endless pageant of events coinciding with the longestdays and warmest nights of the year. Basking in the earlysummer sun, Kraków celebrates literature (Miłosz Festival),concerts (Jewish Culture Festival) and myriad outdoorevents, from urban picnics to book fairs, from the Bread Festival to St John’s Fair, from the Dragon Parade andthe jubilant Lajkonik Parade to the Wianki music festival encompassing the entire city. There’s also space for nostalgia, with stars of Polish music and devoted audiencesrecalling Zbigniew Wodecki. But that’s not all: this impossible June Kraków alsohosts the Film Music Festival, the Krakow Film Festival, Krakow Photomonth Festival and the Krakow Photo Fringe, spectacular events held at the park by Tauron Arena Kraków as part of International Children’s Day, soaringacrobatics at the Aerial Picnic, Elīna Garanča performingas part of the ICE Classic cycle, Sinfonia Varsovia joining Sinfonietta Cracovia… And there’s Theatre Night, Dance Night, and – pure and simple – good fun!
