December Senses

29 November 2018

What do we enjoy in December? Kraków’s unique festive atmosphere with its intoxicating fragrances, traditional flavours and dazzling sights: the nativity scene competition and exhibition once again brings the stunning constructions on display at Celestat and in the city space where they are presented as part of the returning campaign All Around Nativity Scenes. The Christmas Fair at the Main Market Square and the Christmas Fair of Unique Items in Podgórze are the perfect opportunity to pick up decorations and gifts and join in arts and crafts workshops and presentations. And Cracovian nativity scenes are also the subject of the latest family meeting as part of the “Good Morning ICE Kraków!” campaign.

We’re still buzzing from the Divine Comedy festival, once again celebrating the finest achievements in contemporary theatre from Poland and abroad. Moving pictures are the domain of the Silent Film Festival, which – oddly enough – we also associate with sound, thanks to its brand new, live music accompaniments to films dating back to the earliest days of cinematography. December also resounds with concerts of Advent songs and Christmas carols, and Tauron Arena Kraków has the honour of welcoming none other than Paul McCartney – one of the forefathers and living legends of pop music. Finally, we close the month at the Main Market Square on New Year’s Eve with a traditional concert and countdown to the new year.

Let it be!
