Mary had a little lamb,
its fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
the lamb was sure to go.
(nursery rhyme)

The Lamb House’s * name dates back to the 19th century, when it was bought by the owner of the adjacent Palace Under the Rams. The building was smaller and more modest than the Rams, earning it the nickname Lamb.

* The tenement house has a rather dark history – in 1537, the royal architect and designer of the Sigismund Chapel and Wawel Castle, Bartolomeo Berrecci, was stabbed to death here by a jealous rival.
