The new site of the Museum of Photography at 22a Rakowicka Street opens on the first weekend of December. The historic building of the former armoury, thoroughly renovated and modernised over the last two years, is home to exhibition rooms, bookshop, café, library and reading room.

The opening weekend, 4 and 5 December, features numerous attractions, including the launch of the first temporary exhibition Things Have Changed – a review of the most fascinating phenomena in the genre since 2000 in Poland: the boom in digital photography and the period of social and economic transformation.

But that’s not all: photography experts will lead tours of the building and the exhibitions, and the organisers will host presentations and discussions and entertain visitors of all ages. Let’s meet at the Museum of Photography at Rakowicka on 4 and 5 December!

Reservation required on the museum's website.

Museum of Photography in Krakow – Rakowicka

ul. Rakowicka 22a

The new site of the Museum of Photography in Krakow at the historic building of the former armoury, thoroughly renovated and modernised over the last two years, is home to exhibition rooms, bookshop, café, library and reading room.

The permanent exhibition What Does a Photo Do? casts a look at photography through a range of different fields. It’s an exhibition about photography as a way of recording history, as an art, as a way of writing family histories, as a material object, as an image captured at a given time… What Does a Photo Do? is, in short, an exhibition about how photography accompanies and changes us.
